We are a coalition of Atlanta organizations calling on our hometown company, The Home Depot, to stand with the communities it serves.
We are a grassroots coalition of Atlanta-area organizations and community members working together to advocate for accountability and change from The Home Depot — a company deeply rooted in our city.
Our coalition brings together volunteers, advocates, organizers, faith leaders, and everyday residents who care deeply about the communities we live and work in. Many of us are long-time customers, workers, homeowners, contractors, and families with deep ties to Atlanta and to the institutions that shape life here.
We came together out of growing concern about the role The Home Depot can play in protecting — or failing to protect — the people who rely on its stores every day. As one of the largest home improvement retailers in the world, the company has enormous influence in shaping workplace practices, community relationships, and corporate responsibility.
Our coalition is calling on The Home Depot to take meaningful action to ensure its stores and parking lots are safe spaces for customers, workers, and day laborers, and to take a clear public stand that reflects the values of the communities it serves.
This effort began with Atlanta-based organizations, but the movement is growing. What started locally is quickly expanding as people and organizations across the country recognize the importance of corporate leadership on this issue. While our roots are in Atlanta, our call for accountability and community safety is gaining support nationwide.
Most of the people behind this effort are volunteers — neighbors, customers, and community members who believe that when people come together, we can push powerful institutions to do better.
